Impacts...

Picture
Acknowledge the harms that occurred and their impact.
Hold ourselves and each other accountable for roles in maintaining the abusive system.
Honor the resiliency of those who endured.
Create a living memorial that makes sure future generations never forget or repeat the past.
Demonstrate a commitment to building something new together...

Audience members should: be part of the experience of these reparations; feel uncomfortable; be impacted and impacting our process; walk away with idea of "I Don't Know" is place of power.

Thank you so much for the past two weeks. It has been an incredible journey of learning, pushing, pulling, and growing for me, in so many ways that I need at this time in my life. The focuses of this project are parallel to what I'm determined to do- promoting healing and healthy interactions through embodiment, movement, and dance. ...it was intensely inspiring and helpful to be immersed in this work.

I refuse to talk about the continual murder of black people in the U.S. and not talk about the 43 disappeared students in Ayotzinapa, México and vice versa. It's the same, state violence. Through the Conspire Project I expressed rage and sadness, embodying these links with my peers and making more. I felt hopeful for the first time in awhile.

I am so appreciative... that we had the chance to share space together. It really was the experience I had hoped but never believed it could be... Today I did a dignity practice with my friend who is having issues at work, and it was amazing how impacted he seemed. It was one of the closest moments we've had in our long friendship.

For me the Conspire experience began a long over due healing process with regards to historical harms and self-harm in relation to my whole being. It was truly impacting to realize how important self-care in the most subtle ways and reaching out for others to physically support you within a process are all valid, necessary, and essential for growth and healing to happen. ...The power of embodied dialogue... is urgent as more and more artists continue to come to the realization that a new way of being needs to shift from the imagined into the reality we are a part of today. ...Conspire has created in me a desire to question, to not remain comfortable, and to continue challenging, listening, resisting, and creating wherever I go.

The Conspire Project is an initiative of Fierce Allies.
Fierce Allies supports groups with contentious dynamics to have fiercely honest and deeply embodied dialogues about the very issues that divide them.
